It’s a bird, it’s a plane… it’s the 2013 WINTER BIRD COUNT!

Join Return of the Natives as they host the 2013 Winter Bird Count at Upper Carr Lake, on January 19th at Upper Carr Lake in Salinas.

Share your birding skills or start learning more about your feathered friends at this fun community event. Numbers and species will be recorded and submitted to the Audubon Society to assess bird populations in Monterey County. Types and number of birds also reflect the on-going restoration that has been happening at upper Carr Lake since the early 2000s. We will be counting birds from 7am to 10am and planting plants from 10am to 12pm to help create more habitats for wildlife at Upper Carr Lake.
